Pricing and Refund Policy

Clear guidance on rates, payment timing, booking confirmation, cancellations, and refunds for direct reservations.

This policy applies to direct bookings made with Explore Nature Mara Lodge through our website or by contacting us directly. If you booked through a travel agent, OTA, or another third-party platform, that third party may apply additional terms to your reservation.

Pricing

Rates shown on this website are for direct bookings with Explore Nature Mara Lodge and are subject to availability at the time of confirmation.

Unless we clearly state otherwise, quoted rates are displayed in the currency shown at checkout and may exclude third-party charges, bank fees, conservation fees, transport, or government levies that are billed separately.

Promotional offers, custom itineraries, group reservations, and special packages may carry their own pricing rules and booking conditions. Where a confirmed offer says something different from this page, the confirmed offer will apply to that booking.

Booking Confirmation and Payment

A reservation is only confirmed after we accept your booking request and send a written confirmation by email or another agreed channel.

We may require a deposit or full prepayment depending on travel dates, package type, lead time, or availability. If a payment deadline is missed, we may release the booking without liability.

Your card issuer, bank, or payment provider may apply foreign exchange charges, transfer fees, or other transaction costs that are outside our control.

Guest Changes and Cancellations

All change or cancellation requests should be sent to us in writing as early as possible so we can review the booking and available options.

If your confirmation, rate plan, or package includes a specific cancellation rule, that booking-specific rule takes priority over the standard policy below.

Unless a different booking-specific policy applies, our standard direct-booking refund terms are as follows:

  • 30 days or more before check-in: full refund of payments received, less non-recoverable bank or processing charges.
  • 15 to 29 days before check-in: 50% refund of payments received, less non-recoverable bank or processing charges.
  • 14 days or fewer before check-in: non-refundable.
  • No-shows, unused nights, or early departures are non-refundable.

Non-Refundable Costs

Where applicable, third-party services already purchased for your booking may be non-refundable even if the lodge portion of the reservation can still be adjusted or cancelled.

  • Park, conservation, or government fees that have already been remitted.
  • Flights, transfers, third-party excursions, and travel insurance.
  • Bank, card, foreign exchange, and payment processing charges.

Changes or Cancellations by the Lodge

If we are unable to provide your confirmed stay due to operational reasons, safety concerns, or events beyond our reasonable control, we may offer revised dates, an alternative experience of comparable value where feasible, or a refund of the amounts paid directly to us for the affected booking.

We are not responsible for indirect costs such as flights, visas, travel insurance, or other third-party arrangements unless required by law.

Refund Processing Times

Approved refunds are usually issued back to the original payment method. Processing times vary by bank and payment provider, but most refunds are completed within 7 to 14 business days after approval.

If the original payment method is no longer available, contact us and we will advise what supporting information is needed to review an alternative refund method.
